Breast Reconstruction Before & After Case 649

She is 52 year old female diagnosed with left sided breast cancer.  She had a prior breast augmentation many years earlier. 

She was not a candidate for nipple sparing mastectomy based on the proximity of the cancer to her nipple areolar complex. 

She underwent bilateral mastectomy with placement of tissue expanders.  She then underwent a second operation for removal of the tissue expanders and placement of permanent implants. 

She decided to undergo 3D nipple areolar tattooing rather than formal nipple reconstruction with subsequent tattooing.   

Many women choose this option because they do not want the constant projection of the nipple that occurs with reconstruction.  They feel comfortable without wearing a bra, as nothing shows through their clothing.
