BOTOX is a neuromodulator made from botulinum toxin A. When expertly injected into specific muscles, it relaxes them and prevents them from contracting. An experienced and skilled injector can stop the movement of only the targeted muscles, meaning you won’t have a frozen or unnatural look and will still be able to express yourself naturally.
BOTOX is commonly referred to as a “lunch break procedure” because it can be done in a quick appointment, after which you can return to work or other daily activities right away. Your results will start developing within a few days of treatment, with full results visible in about 1 to 2 weeks.
You may experience some redness, swelling, tenderness, and, rarely, bruising around the injection site for a day or 2. It’s important not to excessively elevate your blood pressure or push on the treated area during this time.
