What is miraDry®?: The miraDry® system uses energy that targets and destroys the sweat and odor glands in your underarm. FDA-cleared, the miraDry® treatment is done in the comfort of our office and is quick and non-invasive. After your treatment, you can expect to see immediate and lasting results.
Why is this treatment good for me?: This treatment can be helpful to eliminate bothersome underarm sweat and/or odor.
Am I a candidate for this treatment?: Most anyone who is bothered by underarm sweat or odor is a candidate. A consultation is done prior to treatment.
How long does this treatment take? Is there any downtime or pain involved?: The treatment takes approximately 1.5 hours. Downtime is typically just a few days. Some minimal discomfort is felt while numbing for the procedure, but the procedure is painless. Afterward, OTC pain meds is all that would be needed, if anything.
What results may be expected? How many treatments are needed?: miraDry® results can be expected as soon as the same day as treatment but definitely within a week. Most people need just 1 treatment but occasionally a 2^nd treatment is needed. We recommend waiting six months to determine if a 2^nd treatment is needed.

It’s actually pretty simple. The miraDry® system uses energy that targets and destroys the sweat and odor glands in your underarm. Once those glands are destroyed they do not grow back—so once they are gone, they are gone for good.

After your underarm has been numbed and is ready to be treated, the clinician will place the handpiece directly on your skin, lining up with the temporary treatment template applied to your underarm.

Next, the handpiece is activated. You will feel a slight suction as your skin and glands are brought closer to the surface for maximum results.

Finally, miraWave™ energy is delivered and the sweat and odor glands are destroyed. All the while, soothing cooling is applied to protect your skin.
