A new generation of dermal fillers is here, and Southeastern Plastic Surgery is thrilled to welcome it to our plastic surgery practice in Tallahassee, FL. The RHA Collection is the latest line of FDA-approved injectable dermal fillers to reach the U.S. These fillers have already gained popularity around the world for their exceptionally natural-looking results, and they are the newest addition to our broad menu of nonsurgical anti-aging treatments.

Whether you are looking to enhance your lips with lip injections, smooth away lines in your skin, or enjoy enhanced contours, RHA may be the treatment for you. Read on to learn more.

What Is the RHA Filler Collection?

The RHA Collection is a new line of resilient hyaluronic acid fillers from Revance and Teoxane. These new formulations of fillers are designed to closely mimic the hyaluronic acid found in our bodies for a more natural-looking volume boost.

Much like JUVÉDERM® and Restylane®, the collection consists of multiple formulations that are each indicated for different concerns and areas of the face. The line of products includes:

  • RHA 2: Used for lip injections and to smooth out small lines
  • RHA 3: Fills deeper wrinkles, such as nasolabial folds
  • RHA 4: Ideal for rejuvenating the lower face and targeting the deepest creases

The fillers typically last for up to 15 months, though this timeline may vary for each person. That’s similar to what you can expect from other HA fillers, as well.

How Are RHA Fillers Different From Other HA Fillers?

RHA fillers crosslink longer chains of HA and contain fewer chemical modifications than other HA fillers, such as JUVÉDERM and Restylane. Because the HA is gently processed at a lower temperature during manufacturing, it maintains more of its natural structure. The result is a more stable and resilient consistency, earning it the name resilient hyaluronic acid.

What does that mean for you? Longer crosslinked chains mean the filler acts more like an organic substance found in your body. Any dynamic facial movements look especially natural—think laughing, talking, and frowning. This is ideal for anyone looking for “undetectable” filler results: plenty of soft, subtle volume without obvious signs you’ve had a treatment done.

Are RHA Fillers Right for Me?

Like other injectables, RHA fillers are safe for adults of all ages and skin types. The best way to find out whether the RHA Collection is right for you is to schedule a one-on-one skincare consultation with one of our trained aesthetic injectors. Your injector will discuss your goals with you and examine your concerns to determine the best treatment approach. This customized treatment plan may include RHA fillers, different filler formulations, or other injectable options, such as BOTOX® Cosmetic.

My plastic doctor used Juvederm and Restylane on my face in different places. R H A fillers have been approved recently by the FDA. On my cheeks, the doctor applied Voluma, I don’t see it mentioned in your products? Does RHA have something similar?

  • Johanna Bernstein says:

Is RHA filler a cosmetic filler that cannot be dissolved or a natural filler that can be dissolved. With time,, does the RHA filler cause skin to loosen Can u use Restylane or juvederm when RHA filler after 15 or less months is gone from face.

    • Southeastern Plastic Surgery says:

      Thank you for your questions.
RHA is a filler that is derived from Hyaluronic Acid, so it can be dissolved if necessary.
The RHA would not cause the skin to loosen; only small amounts of volume (typically less than a teaspoon) are being placed.
You can use any of the fillers, including Restylane and Juvederm, at any time after receiving RHA. You don’t have to wait for one to be gone before you can place another.
